Through years of manufacturing rare earth products, Santoku Corporation has developed numerous proprietary technologies. We have obtained many patents related to these technologies and apply them to our business operations. As representative examples, we have built patent portfolios for RE-Fe-B alloys for neodymium sintered magnets and hydrogen-absorbing alloys for nickel-metal hydride batteries, both manufactured using the Strip Casting (SC) method. We are also exploring ways to apply these proprietary technologies to materials beyond rare earth products, and as a notable example, we have succeeded in developing a magnesium-lithium alloy. We have also built a patent portfolio for this magnesium-lithium alloy. Furthermore, by leveraging the technology cultivated through hydrogen-absorbing alloys for nickel-metal hydride batteries in the hydrogen energy field—which has attracted considerable attention in recent years—we have also obtained a patent for TiFe-based alloys, one of the alloys used in hydrogen storage tanks (hereinafter referred to as "hydrogen storage alloys").
